How to listen to articles using Edge

June 17, 2019 by Dinsan Francis

Edge (Chromium) has a built-in “Read Aloud” feature that you can use to listen to web pages. This will be really useful for long articles that you find on the web.

This article explains how to use this feature.

Read Aloud – Edge (Chromium)

To listen Edge reading aloud a web page:

  1. Open the page that you want to listen to.
  2. Go to Settings (three dots on the top right corner).
  3. Choose “Read Aloud”

Edge will now start reading the page aloud. You will have playback controls (play and pause etc) as a toolbar on the page.

Customize Voices and Playback Speed

To customize your listening experience, click Voice Options on the playback toolbar.

Use the slider to adjust the playback speed. You can also change language and choose a different voice from the Choose a Voice menu.
