Are you a Google Chrome user looking to switch to Microsoft’s all-new Chromium powered Edge browser? This guide will help you transfer all your bookmarks, passwords and other data to edge.
Edge does not support extensions yet, so you will have to wait for a little longer to use Chrome extensions on Edge. Now, let us get started.
Import Favorites, Bookmarks and More from Chrome
Click the Settings & more (three dots) icon on the top right corner. Choose Settings (gear icon.)
You should now be on the Profiles section of Edge’s Settings. Click Import browsing data.
You will now see the “Import browser data” popup. From the “Import from” dropdown list, select Google Chrome.
From the Profile dropdown, select your Chrome profile. (If you are not sure which profile you are using, open Chrome and click the profile icon on the top right corner and find the name.)
Select the items you want to import. You the following options:
- Favorites or bookmarks
- Saved passwords
- Addresses and more (autofill data)
- Payment info
- Browsing history
Select everything that you want to import. When ready, click Import. If you are using macOS, you will see the confirmation screen. Click Allow. You will need to enter your macOS password to continue.
When the import is complete, you will see the confirmation screen. You are done!
